Darren Anderson joined the Alpha Capital Management team in 2016 as a Research Analyst. He is now a Portfolio Manager & Analyst and oversees our trading operations. After entering the industry with undergraduate internships at T. Rowe Price and Brown Advisory in Baltimore, he spent five years at boutique Large-Cap Value manager The Edgar Lomax Company.

 

Darren continues to implement our thoughtful investment approach with a focus on high-quality companies possessing strong competitive positions that are led by competent management teams. He pays particular attention to identifying the risks of a company as they relate to the potential investment returns. In addition to individual equity research, Darren also assists in the firm’s tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions.

An East Coast native, Darren earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2008. He then completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program before earning his Master of Business Administration in Investment Management at the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business in 2015.

 

Darren resides in North Austin with his wife and their young son. They enjoy snowboarding/skiing, traveling, wine, cooking, the beach, and (most frequently these days) play dates.
